CABSA was @ the Candle Light and Thanks Giving Service: St Andrews, Pimville. 4/12/2016
On the 4 December 2016 CABSA had an opportunity to light a candle and share about HIV and Gender Based Violence.
The congregation was made aware that women who have experienced violence are up to three times more likely to be infected with HIV than those who have not, and how violence increases the risk of HIV infection in women as a result of physiological and psychological reasons.
We also highlighted the importance of speaking out when experiencing violence or being affected by any form of violence.
We had an opportunity of introducing Thursday in Black campaign and how the whole congregation can actively get involved. We ended this session with a prayer.
Previously trained Churches Channels of Hope facilitators also lit a candle commemorating World AIDS Day.
