Candle liturgy and Prayers
Prayer:
Lord, as the body of Christ, we are confronted by,
and share in, the pain of all who suffer due to HIV and AIDS.
We hear You calling us to end new infections,
educating ourselves at every level within Your Body,
Confronting poverty, conflict and gender inequalities,
Ending stigmatisation and judgement,
and accepting accountability before You
for our actions and attitudes, in order to live out
the Good News of the all-embracing love of Christ,
Amen.
Lighting of candle:
As we light this candle, may it be sign
of Your embracing love for all
who experience the effects of HIV and AIDS.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer:
Almighty God, The Father of us all,
We ask You to inspire the members of our community
With Your Spirit of love, care and compassion
to deal justly and responsibly with us who are HIV+,
that we may experience You in our relationships.
Remove from our midst the fear of rejection and judgement
And grant that we all stand as one in Your presence,
Saved by the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
