Eastern Cape Refresher, Grahamstown, 3-5 November 2010
REPORT ON THE REFRESHER MEETING IN GRAHAMSTOWN – 03-06 NOVEMBER 2010
I attended this refresher meeting in order to be updated on the work of CABSA and to be able to network with other facilitators in the eastern Cape [we moved to East London recently].
Not knowing the Eastern Cape very well, I was a bit apprehensive regarding the venue, but when we arrived at the venue – Mariya uMama weThemba monastery in Grahamstown – I was quite surprised and very impressed. The tranquillity and peace was really uplifting and good for the soul.
The camaraderie at the meeting was very good. Besides the team there were nine participants, but we quickly got to know each other and bonded well.
As far as the content and the way it was presented is concerned, I have no complaints. There were new things to learn. We learned a lot from listening to the experiences of participants.
The team did a good job! Thanks guys. It was good to see Jerry, Wim and Buyiswa again. I only missed Aneleh.
On the positive side: neat, clean rooms; the tranquillity, hospitality, peace, nature; social evening on Thursday; the good vibes during the entire meeting.
Thanks for the notes and updates received.
We left newly refreshed and motivated to continue with the good work under the guidance of CABSA.
I do hope that the next refresher meeting will be real soon.
