Praying about Home Based Care

Hope Carter, Prayer Coordinator for SIM - Kenya HOPE for AIDS sends out a monthly prayer letter.  In the prayer letter for October 2009 she said:

"Many Biblical values that define the church are also core values that define activities in faith-based home-based care such as:  establishing and building a relationship with God, forgiveness and restoration among families and friends, offering the compassion of Christ to those in need, praying for the sick, teaching about health and disease prevention, building strong marriage and family relationships, feeding the hungry, caring for children, preparing for death, grieving, and displaying the glory of God. This month please pray with us for those who are working to provide home-based care (HBC) in communities across the globe and for those who are still in need of such care. Pray for your own community every day as you pray for each of these issues surrounding HBC."

Although I have always had a profound appreciation for care givers - these prayer guidelines made me think of home based care in a new and much more multifaceted way.
