“Taking Action for Health, Dignity and Justice: The Interfaith Pre-Conference on HIV” will take place from 20-21 July at Howard University and will be opened by an evening Networking Reception on 19 July held also at Howard. The multi-faith committees convened by the EAA are currently working hard to ensure a vibrant, pertinent and engaging pre-conference. We invite you to submit a workshop proposal as well as register for the pre-conference via our website. There is also the possibility to book extremely affordable accommodation at 28 USD per night.

Pre-conference registration includes:
Accommodation entitles you to up to 10 nights at the Meridian Hill Hall, Howard University, at an exceptionally affordable rate offered by the University to EAA members and partners. Rooms are singles, with shared bathrooms, air conditioning, internet access and linen provided. There are also shared kitchens and common room areas with sofas, TV and vending machines. Mini microwave/fridges will be made available upon request. Rooms must be reserved for the 10-day block even if you are not staying the full 10 days.
The Meridian Hill Hall is close to the pre-conference venue. The Metro stop is 'Shaw-Howard University' on the Green Line. It is also just one stop from the conference centre where AIDS 2012 will take place. There will be free shuttle buses linking the 'Shaw-Howard University' stop, Meridian Hill Hall and the pre-conference venue, although they are also in walking distance
The interfaith pre-conference is organized around three main plenaries, each focused on elements of the theme: Dignity, Health and Justice. Linked to each plenary will be eight workshops, running simultaneously for 1.5 hours. The 24 workshops thus combine the plenary theme with sub-themes as follows:

Each workshop will offer a theological reflection on the topic as well as a “best practice” or other practical presentation, with significant time spent in exchange and discussion to identify how we need to move forward in the future.
